mood: tired, eyes hurt a lot
music: Graze the Roof by Laura Shigihara
currently: waiting until 11 so i can sync up with oomf

I keep falling asleep for 2 minutes at a time before waking up stressed. I need to submit something at an exact time with my friend, but I think after I write this, if it's not 11 yet I'm just going to submit it and fall asleep. Addendum: I actually did write this one yesterday, but I'm posting it today because I guess I just forgot to do neocities push . in the Neocities CLI before I went to bed. That's how tired I was.

I got so bored while I was waiting that I decided to learn how to gem farm in Idle Champions. This was supposed to be my single idle/incremental/clicker/whatever game where I didn't become absolutely obsessed with optimizing my progress, but I needed something cerebral to keep myself awake, so here we are I guess. I have a formation running right now with Ellywick, Melf, Hew Maan, Dynaheir, Lae'zel, and Ezmerelda. I also put Jim in the middle for emotional support, but he doesn't really need to be there because he's not a speed champion. Reasonable justification could be he's here for gold, and he's subbing in for Omin because him and Lae'zel are in the same seat and one of them is clearly more valuable than the other for gem farming.

Shandie is another champion that I've heard is also good for gem farming, and since I should be getting her some time tomorrow as a reward for claiming 4 chests from the Dragonlance Celebration, I expect my numbers to only get better as time goes on. I'll get my grubby hands on Deekin when he comes out with his rework, too. My game plan for the next few speed champions is just get them through time gates and pray that I get lucky with loot from electrum and patron chests, but either way, I'm not too invested in gem farming yet so it's not a big deal if I can't get all rare equips immediately.

I'm going to make a massive swerve and change the topic to Becca Mallekoote, formerly known as the Albuquerque Jane Doe. I've kept my eye on a lot of unidentified decedents throughout the past few years, and I'm so glad that Ms. Mallekoote finally got her name back only a few days ago. I feel like she was on the same level as Tanya Jackson (Peaches) where she should have been identifiable, but just never was for so long. And speaking of Ms. Jackson, not to sound weird, but was anyone else surprised when they identified her and she was a darker-skinned black woman? The image of her tattoo made me think she was lighter-skinned and/or biracial for so long, taking into account the man who stated that he did the tattoo for a black woman. I still have no idea why her skin was so light in that photo.

This blog post has mainly just been me talking about unrelated things, so let me just tell you guys about my day before I get too sidetracked. That event that was happening today that I talked about in yesterday's blog actually wasn't that bad! Two people needed to go home and do their stuff for it there, but everyone else was able to finish up with their tasks before they had to leave and I'm happy for them. I'm also happy that I basically need to do nothing else for this club, and that my Fridays are free now unless I decide to do something out of my own volition. The woes of being a vice president. You're not obligated to do something because you're not the president, but at the same time you're as important as the president so you're also obligated at the same time. And I hear a cat meowing outside right now.

Before the big snowstorms in January (?) there used to be these two cats right outside my bedroom window. I'm pretty sure one of them is owned by my neighbors that are always arguing outside, but the other one is just a random stray cat trying to get it on. They were always yelling at each other. There were also kittens, I think? If I'm remembering correctly, the stray cat had kittens and was hiding them in this little lumber pile between our houses, so sometimes I would hear the kittens crying too and it was just a whole bunch of noise. The cats either went away because of the weather or someone took them in, but now they're back and I hear them every day and every night. I would have taken the stray and her kittens in, but my mom is deathly afraid of cats and I don't have much room to hide them.

Anyways, I'm getting tired now and I don't really know what else to write about, so I'm going to submit that thing I need to submit now and just go to sleep. I don't even know what time it is right now, but if I wait any longer I'm going to fall asleep and miss the deadline. Why did we wait to submit these an hour before the deadline, anyway? Hank out.
